About Us
Welcome to Kaity Kakes! We bake custom-designed cake pops, cookies, cupcakes and cakes for all occasions.
To give you a little background, I have been painting for 20 years, dabbling in clay for 5 years and baking for as long as I can remember. My fondest memories are being with my Mum and Grandmother baking in a huge kitchen that was the central part of our home and savoring the wonderful smells coming out of the oven. Every year before Lent, my Mum would bake apricot-filled donuts and I would impatiently wait for them to come out of the fryer. These two ladies have been my biggest inspiration to bake and create.
The business is named after my granddaughter, Kaitlyn and so, the name Kaity Kakes evolved 4 years ago.
Working with pastries and combining them with art has been very satisfying. What fun it is to take little round cake balls and shape them into Angry Birds or characters from Peep and Big Wide World.
